Franklin Templeton Singapore

Franklin Templeton Investments has been investing in Asia for decades. Our commitment to Asia is the result of our strong belief that in the 21st century, it will continue to be one of the world’s most dynamic economic regions. We have a deep understanding of the forces that affect this region. Our investments are based on original research and a first-hand knowledge of the factors that influence the economic environment.

Our growing presence in Asia and within Southeast Asia specifically, emphasizes our long-term commitment to the region’s investors. Franklin Templeton marked its first presence in Singapore with the opening of a research office in 1990 and has since expanded to include offices in Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand. We aim to continue broadening our footprint across the Southeast Asia region by providing customized investment solutions and services to local investors.

With the liberalization and opening-up of the unit trust industry in Singapore, a Sales & Marketing office was set up in 1996 to create and distribute unit trusts locally. Franklin Templeton Investments pioneered the umbrella fund structure “Templeton Investments Funds” in Singapore in 1996 with the launch of the first emerging markets fund. Franklin Templeton has been serving institutional investors in Singapore since 2000.

Singapore is currently Franklin Templeton’s global centre for emerging markets investment management and the company’s regional business hub for Asia.
