Gene Jahng, CFA

Gene Jahng is a senior investment risk manager of the Investment Risk Management Group for Franklin Templeton Investments. He manages a team of 5 investment risk professionals located in San Mateo and Fort Lauderdale. Mr. Jahng guides the execution of investment risk management across equity and balance portfolios.

Mr. Jahng joined Franklin Templeton Investments in 2006 as a Senior Investment Risk Analyst. In 2008, he was promoted to Investment Risk Manager and to his current role in 2013. During his tenure, Mr. Jahng has applied his knowledge in performance, returns-based risk analytics, performance attribution, forecasted portfolio risk modeling, and risk-aware portfolio construction to advise the investment teams in the pursuit of higher risk adjusted performance.

Prior to working at Franklin Templeton, Mr. Jahng was a product manager at MSCI Barra and before that a Finance officer in the U.S. Army serving in various capacities including commander of a Finance company in Fort Lewis, Washington.

Mr. Jahng earned his B.S. in economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and M.S. in computational finance from Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania. Mr. Jahng is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
