Jens Waechter, Ph.D.

Jens Waechter joined Franklin Templeton in 2018 as a VP, product manager and moved to senior global macro & research analyst for Templeton Global Macro. In this position, Dr. Waechter analyzes trends in global fixed income and macroeconomics and has a regional focus on Europe. He also represents the Templeton Global Macro group with clients and other external parties, communicating the team's investment process, positioning and market outlook.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton Investments in 2018, Dr. Waechter worked at DekaBank Group for 16 years, where his experience included macroeconomic research and the management of multi-asset fund-of-funds. Prior to that, Dr. Waechter worked four years as a Senior Economist at Deutsche Bank AG. In addition, Dr. Waechter is a lecturer for a postgraduate education course leading to the degree of Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA) since 2002.

Dr. Waechter holds an M.A. in business from the University of Bielefeld in Germany, and both an M.A. and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Georgia. He is also a CEFA Investment Analyst and fluent in German.
